Wardha Saleem's new SS15 collection for Telenor Fashion Pakistan Week 2015, The Lotus Song, is a perfect blend of Whimsical Elegance. The novelty of designs is so detailed that it doesn't become apparent till you really pay attention and then BAM, you are mind blown.
The collection managed to be visually and texturally profound, that is no lay man's doing. Wardha's experience of using the traditional techniques, and turning them into art through innovative finishing, is not new. Her previous collections speak volumes of how she has become a master of both prints and embellishment.
The clothes had modern silhouettes with occasional draping. Despite the heavy working on most, they looked breezy. Slip dresses, fitted pants, capes and embroidered jackets along with a couple of beloved sarees (a Wardha must have in every collection). The starting point were the pastel prints in peaches and pink, ice blue, creams, sage greens and coral, which was re-imagined in 3-D texturing through hand crafted embroidery of resham threads and gota. The patterns and grids were further beaded with pearls and flowers using French knot, reverse stitch and Kitcha work technique. The core inspiration were the Madhubani art and Ikat print patterns which Wardha translated into her work using her own style of illustration and craftsmanship

Wardha Saleem's collection had a lot of appealing moments with dresses like the crop jacket with bird gotta work worn by Amna Ilyas, the gorgeous slip dress on Sabeeka Imam and the super chic, cape top on Hira Tareen.
Further attention grabbing elements were added through the shows with miniature frangipani flowers (also seen in the embelishments and beading on the clothes) and the beautiful, silver lotus earring specially made for this collection by Tapu Javeri. The summers are ready to be cooled of with this collection so get ready to see everyone wearing this amazing designer.
