A delicious gift from the Maldives, my sister brought these along with a few others for me to eat, nom nom. MAMEE Express Cup Saveur Curry Instant Noodles, a mouthful but just the name apparently. I was just excited to have curry flavour because those are one of my favourites other than hot chicken and tom yum.
Mamee is a Malaysian brand. The logo is quite cute, looks like a broadway show sign. A clear, bright packaging design and a sturdy plastic cup. The lid design, however, was not effective considering it had all the instructions yet was completely unreadable.
The cups come with a 60g instant noodle cake, curry seasoning packet and a tiny foldable fork which I have never used but I am sure many of you have. I carry my own portable cutlery on the go and at home just use the available one.
Directions are pretty straightforward though. For cup noodles, most of the time, you just empty the seasoning, pour boiling water till the mark inside the cup, cover it with the lid (or any other flat thing, I sometimes use a small plate) and wait patiently between 3 to 5 minutes and it will be ready to slurp!
As soon as I took off the lid the curry smell filled my senses. Smelled good, but, I will be honest. Noodles were chewy but not one of the best I have tasted. However, they didn't have any chemically or doughy after taste which I appreciated.
Even though the soup broth was a bit watery, despite me following exact directions, it was still flavourful. The curry flavour was definitely there with a very subtle spicy kick so most of you can enjoy it. I liked it and wanted to have some more.
Overall it was a pretty decent cup of noodles and can surely become better if they make the noodles slightly better. The broth was the winner for me though, very delicious.
I only found one link for this product, maybe it is not that easily available elsewhere other than Malaysia and select countries. I found a similar variant that you can check here on AMAZON.
