Even though there are plenty of other award shows now in line, Lux Style will remain the pioneer to celebrate the best of Pakistan’s Music, TV and Fashion in uber STYLE.


The Awards office of the 12th Annual LUX Style Awards announced nominations in 22 categories in the field of television, music and fashion in Karachi yesterday. The three distinct juries that debated and voted for the TV, Music and Fashion nominations has finally selected five nominations per category.
If I start talking about what I think per category in detail there will be no end to this Blog so I will spare the suffering and add brief liners.

FILM NOMINATIONS

No film nomination in any category for 2012? Not surprised. Most directors were busy completing their budget plan which they miscalculated before starting the production which led to major delays in the film projects, plus Fawad Khan was not available?


TELEVISION NOMINATIONS


Best TV Play (Satellite): I really think, personally, Shehre zaat doesnt belong there. It's standing out as an odd ball.

Best TV Actress (Satellite): All actresses did a good job but if Hina doesnt get this award it will be a shame. She is Phenomenal. Plus where did Sarwat Gillani?

Best TV Writer: I personally appreciated the script in MAAT but that's subjective. Let's see who get's the most 'thumbs ups'.

Best Album: No recent Pakistani singer has impressed me enough to actually make me buy (or download) the entire album.

Best Original Sound Track (OST): Hmm Zindagi Gulzar Hai should have been nominated next year no? Matae Jaan was quite catchy and hard hitting.

Best Emerging Talent: The only Category I dont approve off. I would have preferred a separate category for model's designers, make up artists and Photographer. It's kinda hard to understand choosing and comparing one with the other when they are so different.

OMG my fingers hurt but hey it was worth it. Now lets rub our hands, grit our teeth (or not) and wait for the final verdict!

P.s: this post is not image heavy because selecting sooo many images was too much, and selective ones would have seemed too biased.
