So believe it or not, this is my first ever Highlight and Contour Palette. I do have contouring powders, bronzers and highlighters separately, but never owned a palette, I still don't know why (scratches chin). Oh well, there is always a first and thanks to Freedom Makeup London, I got mine, yesh!
Ok so I did buy a cream contour palette once which I immediately sold off because I was a contour and highlight virgin and too scared to try it. I was also much more comfortable with powder products. However, now I just want everything and can never have enough makeup, I mean, is that even a thing?
So Freedom Makeup London (Pakistan) sent me their HD Highlight and Contour Kit. A palette with 4 contouring and 4 highlighting shades as well as a double ended brush, how generous. If you guys know about Makeup Revolution and how amazing that brand is than Freedom Makeup is no different because they both are from the same TAM Beauty family. TAM beauty has one of my favorite products and they are amazing with creating good dupes of high end brands.
The packaging is clean and effective, with all the required info. I particularly like how the box was divided into two sections, one for the palette and one for the brush. It also has a face diagram which marks out where to contour and highlight, great for a newbie. The plastic palette itself is very basic, black with light text. I am totally fine with that.
The dual ended brush is very handy though I prefer my own contour and highlight brushes. This brush is great for traveling as well as for someone who is starting highlighting and contour. Bristles are soft and easy to work with.
The powder formula is a mix of, as I already mentioned, 4 highlighters (3 matte and 1 shimmer) and 4 contour shades (3 matte and 1 shimmer) . The shimmer is very subtle and I like that. One of the yellow matte highlighter can be used as a banana powder to set and brighten under eyes.
The pigmentation is superb and blends really well. Staying power is also good. I use this palette for everyday looks as well as more dramatic, intense evening looks. This is a staple palette and can be used by a beginner as well as a professional. Everyone should own it, that I am sure off considering it is so affordable for just PKR.1500 and works as efficiently as many high end palettes which cost a bomb.
I must say that the contouring shades were more pigmented than the highlights which in comparison to other highlighters I own are very subtle and light. Good for a natural day look but maybe not so much for a more dramatic evening look.
Overall, I am totally loving this palette. It is great to work with and you can mix and match the shades as per your look.
