One of the eye shadow palettes that helped me get through my sister's wedding recently was this deliciously wonderful Nude 'tude palette by The Balm Cosmetics. When I first got it I was not too sure about it but the more I use it, the more I am getting attached to it. It has finally taken a spot in my favorite palettes drawer and I shall tell you why.
I have mentioned it many times before and I shall mention it again, *The Balm Cosmetics is definitely one of my favorite makeup brand. The quality is good and the products are swell. A big, warm hug to the person who officially managed to get them to Pakistan; feels good!
This is a great palette for various reasons. The packaging, as always, is quirky, retro and oh-so-naughty. The Balm has no shame, they flaunt it and I love it.
Interesting enough there are two versions of the same palette in terms of design. One called "Feeling Naughty" (featured here) has nude women covered in eye shadows while the other one "Feeling Nice" has no nude women at all. I obviously prefer the one I have, more fun.
The palette consists of 12 colors, a mix of satiny shimmers and mattes. The slim palette has the usual cardboard casing and comes with an outer cardboard sleeve with the exact same design, plus has a dual ended brush (shadow/liner). Also notice how all the names of the shades start with 'S', creative indeed.
The colors range from soft highlights, to neutral blends, moving on the deliciously dark, bold shades. Pigmentation is on point and they blend easily. The texture is buttery smooth but there is a little bit of a fallout which, however, is manageable and didn't bother me much. Doesn't fade easily thus long wear as well.
TOP ROW:
Sassy - A creamy white shade, matte finish, great for highlighting
Stubborn - A light peachy pink, shimmery finish, almost frosted
Selfish - A satiny Taupe that's a mix of a grey and brown, one of my favorites in this palette
BOTTOM ROW:
Snobby - Champagne gold with a soft shimmer
Stand-offish - A very light bronze-y shade with warm undertones and satin finish
Sultry - A medium brown, almost beige, with warm undertones and can be used as a transition color
TOP ROW:
Sophisticated - A dark brown buttery shade with bronze shimmer
Sexy - Another favorite, a deep burgundy, matte finish and great pigmentation
Serious - Almost dark black with matte finish, love creating some smoke with this
BOTTOM ROW:
Seductive (was also called Schitzo) - A satiny deep golden bronze-y brown
Silly - A reddish dark brown with coppery flecks that sparkle
Sleek - A very dark brown, matte finish
Overall a great addition to anyone;s shadow collection, good travel companion, creates looks from basic day wear to sizzling dramatic party eyes, what more do we want?! I am quite happy with this palette and consider it a good investment. My only wish was that it had one neutral transition color. 'Sultry' is good, but not natural enough for subtle blending.
