I am a sucker for eye shadow palettes but sometimes some stand alone products come along and you gotta try them! The new shades of L'Oreal Color Riche Eyeshadow Monos are delicious and trending like anything. You can mix and match and create the sombre (subtle ombre) looks like the ones we you must have seen at the recent SS15 Paris Fashion Week. Lets get some gradient eyes!
I am not a professional MUA but I still love experimenting with makeup and its fun! This post is NOT a tutorial, however you will know about the product and the things you can do with it, mostly eye-wise ;)
The BRAND Claims:
"Make your colour statement with the ultimate intensity and ultra smooth glide of Colour Riche Eyeshadow Monos. Available in a range of both matte and illuminating shades that provide the most exalted colour pay-off yet."

I got are shades in 405 and 406 which led to a mix up of an interesting flash of color on my eyes.
Packaging: Simple and sleek, easy to open (I have broken nails with some monos!). The size is also just right. Its not a lot so you won't question the quantity. There is no foam applicator but honestly, who uses one?
Shades: I gor 405 (A rich,deep Blue) and 406 (a shimmery,bright Mauve)
Pigmentation: Rich, with great color payoff
Application: Buttery smooth and blend-able as apparently its made with a new gel-inside technology. Well the technology works!
Durability: Long lasting, I was not able to completely wash it off with just soap and water.
Texture & Finish: Shimmery, frosty finish with delicious silk texture (ok I am drooling now)
Cost: Hmm, yes a bit steep for a drugstore brand (let's hope it can be revised), still one or two of these are a must have. Its retailing at PKR.1,500/-
Availability: Available All across Pakistan in major Makeup retail stores
I Have My EYES On: I am really contemplating on the shades 502 and 301 because they are lurve too (not easy for a makeup addict to make decision eh!)
WHAT I DID:
Pop of color on your eyes is trending for spring summer makeup. I took inspiration from the fun looks at Paris Fashion week, like Elie Saab and others, and created a no-nonsense, done-in-ten minutes-flat, look.
It was quite simple actually. After applying an eye primer plus natural base eye shade on the entire lid I used the blue shade in the center, mauve on both corners and insides of the lids and then blended. the gradient effect is subtle yet alluring when noticed. I added a bit of drama with a dark grey eye shadow blended in the lower eye line and a swoop swoop of mascara to make the look complete.
Make sure when you go crazy with your eyes you keep your lips natural, like I did here. You dont want to look too OTT, Okay? Okay!
If you have tried these do give me feedback! I want to know about your experience too :)
xx,
Red Alice
