In the recent couple of years Pakistan has been blessed with talented emerging designers. A fresh talent with innovation is always welcomed and thus I present to you N E F E R. To me it sounds like a "Spunky Rocket" and that she surely is, the brand as well as the woman behind it.

Even though the brand was officially launched last week it was registered last year. The brains behind the brand, however, has been cooking up something special for quite sometime. The eponymous label by Nefer Sehgal is soon to become the 'IT bag' brand of Pakistan and you will know what I mean when you look at the products.

The official launch was a sweet affair with near and dear present. I was very amused by the adorably chic cupcakes and cakes in the form of N E F E R Bags!

The brand sources its material, leather and suede mostly, from the best all across the Globe. Working with genuine cow leather and crocodile leather to many other materials, Nefer doesn't believe in compromising with quality.

"While the slogan is 'practical elegance' the philosophy behind it was introduce functional handbags with good quality leather. Not only in Pakistan but around the world, hopefully at more affordable prices and less mass produced," chirped Nefer.

The designs are definitely practical, yet trendy. The Fringe and Naya bag were my favorites as well as the Noor leather tote.

Nefer Sehgal is someone you want to meet and get to know. I have always seen her smiling and there is nothing but positivity oozing out of her. She is quirky yet funky, grungy yet boho. A fun mix, sort of like a packet of assorted skittles.

She has a a very interesting approach to her concepts. "I see personalities in handbags, it strange.For instance me and you will sit and talk for hours or bond over something in common. For sketching the bags I have a technique, I tune out for ten minutes and write down every word that comes to mind no matter what and started highlighting the important words and design accordingly with the persons photo in front of me," She explained,"Unfortunately ideas always pop up when I have to do something else."

I will me meeting Nefer for coffee soon. I wonder if some design will pop up while we chat, hmmm?

The price range is quite fine for what is expected from high quality, limited edition, trendy leather bags. Starting from PKR 4,500 There is a design for everyone of you ladies out there, young or vintage ;)
