Maybelline NewYork, a hip and fresh brand with retail friendly prices has yet again amazed us with their latest product - Clear Smooth Shine Free Cake powder (new Compact version). Even though it was too hot to handle, beauty bloggers made there way to Savor Boar service, Karachi to attend the blog fest with VJ Sehrish and MUA Raana, because one thing we love more than anything is witnessing launches of new beauty products and a chance to test them out :)
No makeup fixer could stop our melting faces that day but the heat was a bit bearable in the company of other beauty bloggers. The sweet and short event started a bit late with an introduction of the New Compact version of Maybelline Clear and Smooth Shine-free Cake Powder, a product I have been eyeing for quite some times now and apparently ideal for the hot and melting faces we had at that moment.
The brief intro was followed by Raan showing us a few of her basic looks on VJ Sehrish and a Maybelline Fan, Fatima. She incorporated the Shine Free product in those looks as well. One basic tip that I got from Raana that day was to keep face wipes in the refrigerator so when we go home after all this heat it will be extra refreshing to clean our face with the cold wipes (now why didnt I think of such a "cool" idea!)
The evening was full of fun posing with props, yummy refreshments and a boat ride (which I missed as I had to run to some other event).
I got a sample of the New shine free cake but unfortunately the shade was a bit lighter than my skin tone and made me look a bit pink. I however liked the finish and ordered a shade more suitable for my Skin tone (Review will be up soon!)
There is not one, but many good things about this Compact. Its tiny and can FINALLY fit into my party clutch. Its cost effective (Rs.250 Only) and it has many other skin care attributes which I will discuss in detail in my product review.
It was a quick yet fun evening with my fellow beauty bloggers and I enjoyed myself despite the sweating. Some events are just not worth missing :)

This looks so fun! I'm glad you found a shade that works for you. It can be so hard to do! And sometimes, sweating is totally worth it. haha

Following you back sweetheart :)
DeleteYou're funny Maliha when you said no amount of fixer can work on your melting made up faces! Great tip on the wipes put in the fridge, I should do that since it's summer time here.
ReplyDeleteMaybelline is one of my favorite brands for pressed powders and keep one in our bathroom and in my purse everytime.
:) I swear the heat and humidity was insane that day!
DeleteWow, I'd totally buy it for the pink compact!
ReplyDeleteYou know, back in the '80s, Maybelline had a Shine Free line, too, with the same pink shade for the packaging and everything. Lol. I remember seeing it in an old issue of "Teen" magazine. :o)
