One of the things that you enjoy while travelling is not just exploring the sights or shopping but also the FOOD. I know that Nihari, Daal Chawal and Biryani might be considered exotic for foreigners when they visit our country. I felt the same about the food in Malaysia. I am quite experimental with food and drinks so I never had issues with newfound fruit or dish (unless there are insects involved, bleh!).
Teh Tarik - a mixture of tea, brewed directly in milk with sugar, similar to our local Doodh Patti, with a slightly stronger and spicier taste. My entire family fell in love with it. This tea is available in instant ready sachets so we brought back some (damn it now I am craving some!)

Seafood Yee Mee - Thin egg noodle dish with Cuttlefish (Or your choice of seafood) in a soupy Broth.
Prawn Mee - Prawns in thick noodles, brothy soup and eggs. It's filling and delicious and very much like Laksa, at least to me.
Fried Mee Hoon - Rice Vermicelli noodles with chicken and stir-fried veggies. The chilli garlic sauce made it spicier and more delicious.
Tom Yum Mee Hoon - Spicy thin noodle soup which was so tangy and hot I felt like smoke coming out of my nose! It has Lemongrass, chicken, prawns and chopped veggies.
The above is a Steam Boat stall. I had boiled/steamed Cuttlefish and Fishballs dipped in different sauces. a steamboat/hotpot / shabu shabu has a wide range of fresh foods such as meat, seafood, fish balls, vegetables, quail eggs, etc. placed on little skewers. The food of your choice is dipped into a boiling chicken broth / tom yum broth and cooked according to your preference. You can top it with your favourite sauces and enjoy! FRESH!
The night food markets/streets were filled with all kinds of food stalls. fried Durian, dumplings, dried fruits, soft freshly baked buns (with various fillings), fresh fruits, baked goods, it was a serious food lover's paradise
And now the best of all, my Sister-in-law Nazreen's cooking. That woman can cook anything. She is multi-talented and I love her to bits. She made me fall in love with Tofu all over again!
After writing this post I feel like going back to Malaysia and eating all this food...sigh! Till next time
