The heat and humidity was unbearable yet people still managed to show up at Ayesha's Spring Summer Exhibition of her Semi formal and Formal wear.

I got there earlier than I should have but was greeted by polite team members of Ayesha Hassan.






While waiting for the fashion presentation to start I rummaged through the showcased clothes to get a glimpse of what's in store. Her semi formals comprised of block prints in breathable fabric like cotton and raw silk with light embroidery and applique work. The over all collection was created by using local handcraft techniques like block-printing, screen printing, zardozi, wasli, marrori, resham, gaara and etc.


The Fashion presentation was basic. The heat and humidity was making the models shine more than they should have but they still looked presentable thanks to Natasha Salon.








Other than the affordable price range starting from as low s Rs.4000 (compared to the market) and me having fun with putting an outfit together (see below) nothing stood out to make me jump in joy.


The over all collection was pretty nonetheless. I am sure a lot of people will buy her clothes but when it comes to innovation Ayesha still needs to make a bigger bang. All in good time, baby steps for now.
The small, yet sweet, event took place at Ayesha's House which is also her workshop / Office and was managed by Catalyst PR & Marketing.

I must add that I made quite an interesting discovery the following weekend at 'Sunday Bazaar'. Ayesha should not let her guard down. Its amazing how soon things get copied in the market...no?
