Mori and SoQ - Korean Facial Sheet Masks

Our skin can get tired during a long day at work or sometimes you don't sleep enough and the morning face is as dead as a zombie's. There are also those days when you travel and want to look fresh when you arrive at the airport, a 20-minute mini spa session of these masks can do wonders. Facial sheet masks can provide an instant boost to your face.

Korean facial sheet masks can be so much fun. The global skin treatment trend has reached Pakistan as well. They provide different nourishing qualities as well as let you play around while it dries because you definitely end of looking like Jason from Friday the 13th and that is just awesome!

A company got facial sheet masks from Mori and SoQ and are not selling them here. I was sent a few samples to test as well, yaay. 

Before I share my experience with SoQ and Mori masks let's identify what Facial Sheet Masks are and what you need to know about them:

- Every mask, depending on it's quality, is packed with serum that target's skin issues as per your preference of treatment. The benefits vary from being vitamin packed, brightening, anti-aging serums and many more

- The mask itself is also unique as it prevents the serum/essence from evaporating which in turns let's the product infuse better in the skin

-These sheet mask can vary in their ingredients, from the average humectants like glycerin and hyaluronic acid to proven actives like retinol and vitamin C

- Provides double the hydration than any other essence or serum

- They are not a substitute for other masks as they may boost hydration but not thorough exfoliation and cleansing. They have their own set of benefits but need to be paired with other products for better results

- The hydration from these masks leads to more water absorption as the cotton mask prevents evaporation, making your skin feel buoyant

- Be careful when selecting the type of facial sheet as per your skin type. The increase in temperature and too much hydration can cause acne on oily skins

- The portability of these sheet masks make them very travel-friendly. Have a long flight? just pop these open and give yourself a mini spa time during your trip, ideally suggested before landing to make your face look fab not drab

- It can get messy so try to be near a dustbin with tissue paper to wipe off access from hands or apply mask in a bathroom

- It's better to wipe off access after using the mask, not wash as the serum's effect will not work properly

- Preferably used once a week but can be used daily or on alternate days too depending on the chice of mask

My EXPERIENCE:
The company sent me 1 SoQ sachet and 7 Mori sachets. Every Sachet contains one mask per use. This was also the first time I had heard about these brands, so was a bit skeptical.

SoQ Green Tea Mask, I found this more hydrating than expected. The 20 minutes were quite cooling and soothing due to green tea extract and I definitely felt that my skin felt fresh after the use. It's not a very smooth process and may lead to sticky fingers. It was quite challenging for me to lie still due to my hyper personality. I wiped, not washed, my face after 20 minutes, even though the sheet didn't completely dry. No doubt about the fact that skin did feel more hydrated than before but I still feel I need to pair it up with other skincare regimes like facial cleansing and scrub before I apply these masks for better results.

MORI Spring Sea Water Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Mask was a similar experience, however, surprisingly it made my skin a bit oily later. It contains hyaluronic acid as well so didn't expect oily skin, but yea that happened. I think the choice of sheet mask is important. For me, the hydrating, refreshing or exfoliating ones suit better than the super moisturizing one which is perfect for people with dry skin.

The Mori masks are divided into the Spring Water Masks and the Black Magic Masks. I have tried the moisturizing blue spring water mask. I am looking forward to trying all the others as well. I got the following masks from Mori:
