MAC Prabal Gurung Collection - Carmine Rouge Lipstick

I have yet to meet a woman NOT in love with MAC. Almost every makeup lover owns one MAC item. The brand has a collection launching almost every month with amazing themes and collaborations with inspiring personalities. I do like MAC but never bought anything from a collection until recently when they launched their most anticipated collaboration series of 2014 with PRABAL GURUNG. One of my favorite brands launching something co-created by one of my favorite designer? Now THAT is something I was not willing to miss!

A bit of insight on PRABAL GURUNG: He is a famous Napalese-American fashion designer known specially amongst celebrities across the world. And why not? He makes the most exquisite dresses ever. Red carpets are set on fire with his creations.





The Packaging is one of the main attractions of the entire collection. Classic gold never gets old. It has a certain vintage appeal to it. Its pretty different from the usual MAC products. The gold does justice. Matte gold with subtle glossy emboss of the brand and designer name. The the plastic part on the inside doesn't really justify the hefty price though.

The first time I used this lipstick it felt like kissing soft, plush velvet.

• The shade I got is Carmine Rouge - A cool red with a subtle hint of deep pink undertone (the lip stain on my coffee cup comes out as pink, like Wow!)
• Great color payoff and long lasting with super rich pigmentation
• Matte finish that glides on like butter
• Didnt dry my lips (I still advise you to prep your lips with moisturizing balm)
• Smells like old ladie's talcum powder (I very much like it actually as it has a weird comforting effect)
• Your lips look like red velvet
• Has a slight sheen
• Better formula than their usual Matte lippies

After applying this lipstick I had bagel with cream cheese, two cups of tea, and after a few hours even had a few bites of Biryani and it didn't budge! That pretty much sums it up <3

It is available on MAC website (currently out of stock) and MAC outlets all across the world. I paid a little extra than $30 and ordered from an online Facebook page Makeup & Accessories. It was worth every penny.
