Essence Cosmetics Winter Nude Glam

It rained a few days ago in Karachi and I thought "Yaay, maybe it will get a little cold now . . ." Ha! That never happened. Doesn't stop us from still sticking to our winter makeup looks as long as we can. The rest of the country (and most of the world) is still cold. This post is not about dark makeup, rather some nudes and neutrals from ESSENCE I tested. Let's be real, sometimes we need a break from the dark, but just sometimes.

ESSENCE is one of those fun, innovative brands which is constantly coming up with new products. I really like that. The product pricing is reasonably pocket-friendly and quality, most of the time, is good.

I got three products recently from them to test, some I liked, some not so much. I will start with my least favorite.

ESSENCE Sheer and Shine Lipstick in No. 1 "MY FIRST LOVE":

It's ironic that I have actually reviewed this lipstick earlier and liked it. So basically, it seems, this lipstick is somewhat dependant on it's shade? The previous Berry Lipstick was lovely but I can't say the same about the current one I tried. It's almost the opposite of what I experienced with the berry one.

- Not Pigmented

- Feels greasy

- Shade is not flattering. It's a really light pinkish nude and looks almost off-white on my lips.  May suit a very light pale complexion only.

- Shine along with sheer to give a gloss like feel

- Smooth application

- Lightweight

- Smells a little waxy

- Not long lasting at all and requires re-application

- Didnt feel moisturizing and collected in gaps and looked icky

- Retails at approx PKR.450/-

ESSENCE Camouflage Cream Concealer 09 "NATURAL BEIGE":

I am not going to lie, I still don't know what to feel about this product. I am sill trying to understand how to use it. At times it looks grey, other times, it looks fine. I think this is a serious trial and error product and will take time to figure out, atleast for me (fingers crossed). I tested it a bunch of times but it is a highly unpredictable formula with a mind of its own (or something of that sort).

- Creamy opague coverage

- Comes in a simple plastic container with clear lid and two shades of concealers

- Prone to crease if not set properly with powder

- Bleandable

- Natural beige. The right one appears to have a warm undertone and the left one appears to have a cool undertone.

- May be a better highlighter than a concealer

- Blends better with fingers, tried brush and beauty blender as well but fingers did the job well

- Doesnt have any obvious smell (or perhaps my sense of smell is not strong enough at the moment)

- Retails at PKR.450/-

ESSENCE All About Nudes Eyeshadow: 730

This, by far is my favorite of the products in the nude set I recieved. This eyeshadow palette is quite ideal for your everyday makeup and can be used for the nuetrals in the more glam eye makeup looks.

- Simple plastic packaging with clear lid

- Nuetrals to dark browns

- Buttery soft in formula

- Smooth blending

- Mix of matte, velvet and shimmery shades

- Minimum fall-out (I recommend doing the eye makeup first with your under eyes lightly dusted with baby powder. Later remove the powder and follow with foundation routine)

- Eye primer recommended

- Not very long lasting

- Does not include applicator

- The size of each eyeshadow is comparitevely larger than what we see in palettes thus good value for money

- Retails at PKR.730/- only
