From its inception, VEET Super Model Hunt has offered promising talent to the Pakistani Fashion Industry. It is Pakistan's very own version (inspired) by America's Next Top Model. Alas, every year depends on who Veet selects as a the team to produce their next season. I feel this year the plot got a bit lost.

This year's VEET Miss Super Model Hunt 2014 Finale took place recently in EXPO Center, Karachi and is yet to be aired so I am not really going to "Spill the beans" about who won, etc. Why? because even as a blogger I am committed to my promise of keeping certain things hush instead of sabotaging a project only so I can gossip and gain momentum.

The event is produced by HUM TV and this is where I had a concern. HUM TV is brilliant with its productions but I have experienced and observed in my years of being part of the media that taking too much on your plate can create a mess. Veet was almost a disaster due to this very reason.

I am 100% sure HUM TV has shot this show beautifully and when you watch it on TV you will love it. Nonetheless when you are doing the Event Management as well as TV production together you need to do BOTH right or just focus on one. The event management, I felt, was neglected and looked like something put together last minute. I was reminded of the shows I used to do in my college days. From the dreary, dark entrance to unfinished set up, to the confused fashion presentations shown on the catwalk, the event was not up to par when compared to the previous ones.

The contestants, this time round, a different story all together. The level of criteria seems to be dropping and whoever the winners may be (SHhh) they still can't be compared to a much better lot that has come out of VEET Talent Hunts in the past. No offense to shorter girls but every profession has a skill set and one thing that is very important to be a "super Model" is the super height...I saw almost none this time round.

The main thing that actually pulled the Finale together were the Mentors (Cybil, Amna and Sabina), the Judges (Vaneeza Ahmed, Saba Ansari, HSY and Tapu Javeri) and PR/Marketing by Take 2.

VEET Miss Super Model has a lot of potential to improve considering its the ONLY proper Model talent hunt that happens in Pakistan. It should not go down the drain. We can only wait and see next season . . .
